Client:
KinderCare
Description:
Camarillo, CA:
This new Kindercare childcare facility set within an existing retail
center, needed architectural features that would be consistent with the
architectural character of the center. Design features include a
decorative masonry “loggia” and entry shade trellis.
Carlsbad, CA: Strategically located within the affluent
community of Carlsbad, this project was completed within an aggressive
schedule and specific budget guidelines.
Chino Hills,
CA: Completed in 1999, this facility is located within a new
highend retail complex bordered by a golf course and equestrian trails.
This project included site amenities unique to this location.
Corona, CA:
Placed within a residential area and within proximity of a prominent
church, the design approach for this Kindercare facility started with
residential quality that extends the feeling of “home.”
Detailing included a scaled down entry portico and low eaves accented
with exposed wood rafters.
Fontana, CA:
This new 10,000 S.F. freestanding corner-entry Kindercare facility set
within an existing retail center, includes design features such as
decorative masonry wainscot, entry arches, and a terra cotta color
palette.
Goodyear, AZ:
Located within an existing retail center, a Southwestern style defines
this 10,000 s.f. Kindercare facility. Deep window recesses for shade,
angular stone walls and warm earth tones allude to natural desert forms
and colors.
Placentia, CA:
Completing an existing retail center on Imperial Highway, this
Kindercare facility design includes features that reinforce the
surrounding Mediterranean style including classical stone columns and
colorful metal accents.
Rancho
Carillo, Carlsbad, CA: The second facility set within the City
of Carlsbad, this neighborhood required a preliminary design process
with stringent Planning requirements. The new building was required to
match the features of a recreation building located adjacent to the
site.
Temecula, CA:
Acknowledging the Mediterranean design details of the adjacent
“host” retail center, Kindercare asked Kishimoto
Architects, Inc. to create a new entry tower design with a prominnent
cornice feature and classical “crown.”
Valencia
– Commerce, CA: Set within a new industrial retail center,
this Kindercare facility emphasizes a creative approach to the existing
architectural context. A preliminary design process, required by the
city’s Planning Department, mandated that the project complement
the design of the new retail center with an industrial look. Design
features include a bold blue entry tower, industrial-style roof screen,
and a new look to Kindercare trademark signage
“underscored” by the metal fascia.
Valencia
–Seco Canyon Plaza, Santa Clarita, CA: With an
architectural character established by the surrounding retail center,
this Kindercare corner-entry design responded with a contemporary color
scheme and dramatic entry features. Computer imaging prepared by KAI
became an integral part of the design presentation to the Owner and the
Community.
Ventura, CA: Ledgestone masonry veneer, stone window sills, and other
Craftsman-style details enrich this Kindercare facility located within
a new retail center. The entry is defined by a “friendly”
courtyard layout and inviting colors.
